Matthew 28:19-20

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Pastor Lucinda “Cindy” Kent is a phenomenal, anointed preacher, who can deliver the word in such a way that it touches the entire congregation across generations. She strengthens and encourages all bodies of believers through her unique style of deliverance, experience, and wisdom.

She is a devoted mother, and friend. Pastor Cindy is a dynamic source of inspiration who constantly exhibits the spirit and joy of God. She is a respectable, strong leader within her community who continues to be honorable, steadfast, and obedient to all that God has called her to accomplish.

Ms. Lucinda “Cindy” Kent was born in Providence, Rhode Island. She attended Providence College in Rhode Island where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She has enjoyed a twenty-year career in corporate America as a controller in real estate, construction, and property management arena. 

In 2015 she received a Master’s degree in Divinity from Capital Bible Seminary. She is presently is completing a second Master’s degree Christian Counseling and Discipleship. She anticipates being enrolled at Wesley Seminary in Fall 2016.

In 1995, Cindy joined Queen’s Chapel United Methodist Church where she has served as the Chair of the Pastor Parish Relations Committee, the Recording Secretary for Queen’s Chapel United Methodist Women, Finance Chair Member, Mass Choir Member, and the Chair of the Weekend Women’s Retreat. She also used her skills and talents in various capacities of Queen’s Chapel to include serving as Lay Leader, Liturgist, Worship Design Team Member, Leadership Team Member, and the Elementary Sunday School Teacher.  

Pastor Cindy is a proud member of the Prince George’s County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, focusing her interest on the sorority’s inspiration team. As a proud member, Pastor Cindy is also the founder of what is now a seven-year running weekly prayer line with the Prince Georges County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, serving as the weekly facilitator. The weekly prayerline is open to everyone.  

Pastor Cindy is called to preach at several area churches on a regular basis. She preached her first sermon at Queen’s Chapel United Methodist Church in 2011 during her first year serving as Lay Leader. She is currently serving as the Pastor of Van Buren United Methodist Church.

Cindy is mother of two wonderful, athletic sons, George Miguel Kent and William Julio Kent
